But, before you twist and shout the night away on Friday come out and join us at Charleston’s premiere homegrown music series on Thursday, July 14th at Rockin’ The River with Bootless from 5:30pm to 9:30pm. Rockin’ The River is a North Charleston, South Carolina monthly concert series held at Riverfront Park North Charleston. So, come out and join us at Riverfront Park this Thursday, July 14th and grab a tasty dish from one of our many food trucks and a refreshing drink from our beer and wine garden that we will have on-site. Finally, to put the cherry on top of this homegrown music-filled night, both admission and parking are free! Gates open at 5:30pm and Bootless will take the stage from 6:30pm to 9:30pm. We all live in a yellow submarine with Sgt. Submarine (A Tribute to The Beatles) on Friday, July 15th. With Sgt. Submarine in command, you will be transported back to the ‘60s because your mind will be playing tricks on you making you believe you are both seeing and hearing Paul McCartney, John Lennon, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr. Unfortunately it is still 2016, but if you want a night of time travel across the universe then come join us on Friday July 15th at 5:30pm and twist and shout your way into the night to the songs of The Beatles.

Rockin’ the River is Back!

We literally live to make your big day the most special and memorable that it can possibly be—ask any of our satisfied clients!

Ear for Music did a phenomenal job for my bride and groom's wedding at Founders hall!  From the very beginning, they were a joy to work with and Erika was quick to respond to every call and email!  We adored DJ rDOT!  He did a wonderful job at the ceremony and was very professional and kind.  He brought the house down at the reception and everyone was on that dance floor!  He does a great job knowing what the guests want!  I strongly recommend EFM.  You won't be sorry!!

Peace, Love, and The Dubplates at Party at The Point, July 8th

One good thing about music, when it hits you, you feel no pain.
— Bob Marley

So, you bring the people and we will bring the love and the reggae with The Dubplates this Friday, July 8th at 5:30pm at Party at the Point. The Dubplates, a reggae/dancehall riddim band born and raised in Charleston, draws much of its identity from the diversity of both its members and its fanbase. Performing with anywhere between seven and ten members, the Dubplates are a combination of traditional Jamaican Patwah and Lowcountry pride. Charleston native Dave "Big Hair" Brisacher started the band with his business partner "Daddy" Brady Waggoner back in 2002 as Dub Island Sound System. Somewhere between 2007 and 2008, the band brought in a full horn section, a few more vocalists and percussionists, and became the Dubplates. So, tell the boss you have to leave work early, grab a refreshing drink, and come get whisked away with us this Friday on a sandy beach overlooking the Charleston horizon during a crimson sunset, and dance the night away with The Dubplates at Party at the Point.

Don’t forget to join us for our encore Party at the Point with Sgt. Submarine next Friday, July 15th at 5:30pm. You will not want to miss this one of a kind tribute to The Beatles!

Quit "Wasting Time!"--Banana Pancakes (A Tribute to Jack Johnson) at Party at the Point July 1st

“Maybe we could sleep in, make you banana pancakes, pretend like it’s the weekend now”…but first save those pancakes for Saturday morning and go to Party at the Point this Friday, July 1st to see Banana Pancakes (A Tribute to Jack Johnson). Banana Pancakes is a regional band made up of a group of seasoned musicians who came together to make a tribute to the “groovy stylings” and smooth sounds of Jack Johnson. The band is based in Charlotte, North Carolina and consists of members: West Bolz-guitar and vocals, Steve Green-bass, Cory McClure-drums, and “Oseiku” Daniel Diaz-congas and percussion. So, stop your sitting, waiting, and wishing and escape to a water-front beach that is Party at the Point, and turn your bubble toes into sandy toes while listening to soft-rock with good people because in the end we will all be better together on Friday, July 1st at 5:30pm. Party at the Point takes place at the scenic Charleston Harbor Resort and Marina, 20 Patriots Point Road, Mt. Pleasant.  Admission is $7 and food/drink tickets are available for purchase at the event.

Don’t forget to join us the next two weeks for more Party at the Point with The Dubplates on Friday, July 8th and Sgt. Submarine (A Tribute to the Beatles) on Friday, July 15th.

Party at the Point featuring Dead 27's & BYOG

Party at the Point season is underway, and the last two weeks have been nothing short of incredible. What better way to say "bring on the weekend!" than with your friends, families and amazing live music in the paradise that we like to call the Charleston Harbor Resort & Marina? This week, we're partying with local favorites, Dead 27's and BYOG. Here's the scoop:

Dead 27's

"...Creative and timeless music with impassioned veracity...a refreshing blend of song-craft and musicianship..."
Terry Adams, Charleston Magazine, May 2014

(First off- who can do Tedeschi Trucks justice like that? Nailed it!)

So a little bit about the band:

Sometimes the stars and planets align and things that can be difficult come surprisingly easy. Such is the case with the formation of Dead 27s. After playing a few casual gigs, the obvious chemistry could no longer be ignored. Since 2012, the band has been on a mission. Relentlessly making their way through the booming Charleston, SC music scene, the Dead 27s garnered the attention and praise of local media, calling them, "the exciting new band to watch" and fan support soon followed. In 2013, Dead 27s took home multiple Charleston City Paper Music Awards for “Song of the Year”, “Rock Band of the Year”, “Up and Coming Artist of the Year”, and guitarist Wallace Mullinax was honored with his second straight award as Charleston’s “Guitarist of the Year”. The band has since opened for Toubab Krewe, Patterson Hood, Col. Bruce Hampton, Orgone, Chris Robinson Brotherhood and shared the stage at festivals with many others. Their sound has been described as “a Southern blend of rock and soul”. In April 2014 and to much critical acclaim, Dead 27s released their 7 song debut, "Chase Your Devils Down”. In summer 2014, the band was honored to place in the top 24 for Vh1's “Make a Band Famous” competition. Although their sound comes from many different influences, the band has their focus on the future. Currently touring while writing and recording, the band continues to gain momentum as they spread their music across the country.

In current news:

  • Recording a new album in Fall 2015 with Grammy nominated producer and saxophonist for Galactic, Ben Ellman
  • 6 Charleston Music Awards received in 2014 for:
    • Rock Band of the Year
    • Song of the Year for "Don't Comfort Me"
    • Album of the Year for "Chase Your Devils Down"
    • Guitarist of the Year for Wallace Mullinax (3rd straight year)
    • Drummer of the Year for Daniel Crider
    • Bassist of the Year for Oliver Goldstein
  • Appeared on VH1's 2014 "You Oughta Know Presents Make a Band Famous" - Top 24
  • The band has opened for Chris Robinson Brotherhood, Patterson Hood, Col. Bruce Hampton and Orgone to name a few

If you're not already a fan, come prepared to buy all of their music after the show wraps up.

BYOG

BYOG is a 5-piece jam driven vehicle that currently resides in Charleston, SC. Since their reformation in the Spring of 2013, BYOG has hit the road regionally, covering most of the South East, sharing stages with the likes of Moon Taxi, EarPhunk, and the Heavy Pets, all in their short tenure as a band. BYOG is a must see live act, frequenting The Charleston Pour House, Visulite Theatre in Charlotte, NC, and Sky City in Augusta, GA. BYOG is David Buck, Blake Zahnd, JP Treadaway, and Phil Pasquini.
