SAFE SOUNDS AT FIREFLY MUSIC SERIES

LineupPoster_11x17_Spring21.jpg

Firefly Distillery, South Carolina’s oldest working distillery, is thrilled to announce the third installment of its socially distant concert series, Safe Sounds at Firefly powered by REV Federal Credit Union in partnership with Ear For Music and Charleston City Paper.

The 2021 Safe Sounds series will kick off on April 17 and run through June 26. Attendees will enjoy live music, refreshments and food truck fare from the sprawling fields of the new Firefly Distillery in Park Circle allowing for safe social distancing.

Limiting capacity to 10 percent, 200 VIP “Safe Sounds Squares” are available for each concert, which secures four guests a ten by ten footprint on the field, separated on all sides by 8-feet. Limited General Admission tickets will be available for select shows.

Each concert features live music performances, beer, wine and local food trucks. Charleston’s popular DJ Natty Heavy will emcee the series and spin during set breaks.

Sibling Rivalry at Party at the Point Featuring The Steppin Stones and The High Divers

Sibling rivalries have always been a thing of the summer — races down the gravel drive, swimming further and faster in the Atlantic, diving into the neighborhood pool with greater style and flair. This summer won’t be any different from the ones we’ve always known, but this year siblings Luke Mitchell and Hannah Wicklund are taking the family competitive spirit up a notch at Party at the Point. This Friday their respective bands, The High Divers and The Steppin Stones, will be performing their rock ’n roll, indie Americana tunes into the crisp summer air.

The High Divers

The High Divers bring an incredibly cool flavor to the genre of Americana music that is entirely unique, captivating, and wholly fun. These Charlestonians will definitely get you dancing along this Friday at 6:30 p.m. and their restless honesty will keep you smiling, laughing, and loving the fullness of life long after their done playing.

The Steppin Stones

The Steppin Stones.jpg

It’s no wonder that The Steppin Stones are traveling all up and down the East Coast this summer playing their tunes for eager audiences. This soul driven trio rocks as hard as 3 people can, bringing their own brand of heartfelt, skillful playing to the stage. Their sure to impress you with their rocking jams and powerful originals. With 2 full length albums and an EP under their belt, these seasoned rockers know how to wow. The Steppin Stones go on 8:00 p.m. this Friday, June 17th.

Both of these bands will be tugging heartstrings and rocking out. You’ll have to come and decide for yourself which sibling wins this friendly, fun rivalry! Party at the Point takes place at the scenic Charleston Harbor Resort and Marina, 20 Patriots Point Road, Mt. Pleasant.  Admission is $7 and food/drink tickets are available for purchase at the event.

The People Behind The Handle

We loved helping The People Behind The Handle party come to life by booking one of our favorite artists, Nathan Salley, to play some awesome tunes for all of us social media lovers.  The event was a huge success and it was great talking with other local social media aficionados about how they bring their ideas to life.  Local blogger Charleston Food Writer put together this event so other creative minds who spend their time writing and photographing their passions and sharing them with the world could have a chance to shake hands, make friends, discuss ideas, drink, eat and enjoy the amazing environment that the Striped Pig Distillery provides.  We can't wait until next year!

RIP

Charleston lost a beloved member of our community, Gary Alameda.  Gary ran G’s Hot Dogs and for most of us visiting his hot dog cart after work, after the bar, or just for a late night snack was the best part of our night.  Our hearts our heavy as we say goodbye to Gary.  For more information on Gary and how you can donate to a Go Fund Me started by his family visit: https://www.gofundme.com/doit4g
